Instructor Ruta
@ruta_ginger
Ruta discovered Pilates after her back started protesting against constant hunching over the computer screen and she has never looked back, swiftly making her passion a career. She is fascinated by how effective Pilates is for unlearning harmful daily habits and replacing them with beneficial ones, improving the quality of posture, movement and health. The resident geek you will always find her reading and taking more Pilates trainings to develop her knowledge and thirst for learning.
What do you like about teaching at the Pilates Academy?
It has been my dream studio to teach at even before I started thinking about turning Pilates into a career. The surroundings are unbeatable and so are the colleagues from whom I am learning so much every time I see them teach. It’s a very inspiring environment in every sense.
What is your Pilates speciality?
Simple motions that are actually difficult, probably my favourite thing about Pilates as well!
What have you learnt the most from teaching at the Pilates Academy?
The more you learn, the less you know. I am slowly making my peace with the fact that learning never stops and every training opens up a new window to a less known.
What is your favourite piece of Pilates equipment?
Reformer, due to sentimental reasons, as I spent the most time on it during my training, and theraband, if that counts as equipment!
What else do you do outside of Pilates for fitness?
I love the outdoors and reading. My hobbies mainly include hiking, surfing (not very well though), diving and non-fiction books, mainly about politics and history (another sphere where learning never stops).
